Mount Brave, Cabernet Sauvignon

 

Well rounded, full bodied flavor. Very indicative of the grape. 

Very flavor forward. This would pair really nice with more subtle beef and pork flavors.

Chateau de Roudier

 


Rich, robust flavor. 

Dark flavors. Dark berry flavors. 

Dry. Great with steak, jerky, well seasoned beef. 


Bitouzet Prieur, Bourgone Pinot Noir

 

Mid bodied red with bright striding fruit flavors, indicative of Pinot Noir.

Machete - California Red blend.

 

This one was honestly pretty forgettable. 

Mild spice, mid range of body and flavor. 

Nothing really noteworthy. 

But not awful. Doesn't get in the way. 

Could pair fine with spice pork, spice red meats.

Belle Glos - Pinot Noir

 


Full bodied, vibrant, fruity flavor. If I'm being honest, I'm not usually a fan of Pinot noiris. The flavor palette on Pinot noir is so all over the place, I'm reluctant to get a bottle, because it's very hard to tell what you're going to get once you get into it. 

I tend to favor the fuller bodied wines. Cabernet, Chianti, Spanish rioja.

This Pinot noir holds its own with a more full-bodied wines.

Not as full bodied, mind you, but still a lot of flavor and great overall palette. Had with a spiced shepherd's pie that paired nicely. This also pairs well with some light berries, and white chocolate.

Ruffino Lumina Procescco

 





Tasty. Apple and pear notes. 

I would enjoy this with some pound cake, tarts, light colored fruits.

Also would be great with a key lime or lemon meringue pie.

Would also be delicious with a apple pie.

Faustino I

 

Big, bold Spanish red.

Would pair well with a pork tenderloin, steak, well seasoned meats. Dark, savory dishes.

Would also pair well with barbequed meats.


Perrier Jouet - Grand Brut

 

Light, vibrant notes. 

So I definitely taste the lemon, lime, and grapefruit.

There is a looooong list of the flavor profile on their description. 

I think once we pass twelve "notes" or flavors, it drags out a bit. 


Bit yes, delicious. Would be great with some lemon cookies, or lemon pound cake.

Light desserts with slight citrus notes would pair quite well with this wine. 





Paso Robles Cabernet

 


Robust, full bodied. Attention grabbing. As much as I love wine pairing, I almost don't want to with this one. It stands alone as few wines do. 

Excellent, with steaks that are well seasoned. Pork tenderloin. Robust Italian dishes. Lasagna, cannelloni, or veal
